Michael Ian Black
Michael Ian Black is an actor, writer, and comedian. He began his career with the sketch comedy troupe, The State, which ran on MTV in the early 90’s. From there, he co-created several television shows, including Viva Variety, Stella, and Michael and Michael Have Issues.
He also starred on the NBC television programs Ed, The Jim Gaffigan Show, and Another Period, and has appeared on many other television shows including Reno 911, Mercy, Wet Hot American Summer, and VH1’s I Love The… series.
He’s written several books, including The New York Times bestselling My Custom Van and the critically acclaimed A Better Man. Michael is also a successful children’s book author, best known for the I’m… series that has been published around the world, as well as Chicken Cheeks, A Pig Parade is a Terrible Idea, and the political parody A Child’s First Book of Trump.
He is the screenwriter for Run, Fat Boy, Run and Wedding Daze, which he directed. Michael created the podcasts Mike and Tom Eat Snacks, Topics, Obscure, and How to Be Amazing, a long-form interview show which featured amazing guests from every walk of life, including politicians, academics, musicians, athletes, astronomers, and poets.
Michael regularly tours the country as a stand-up comedian and has released several stand-up specials. He lives in Savannah with his wife and has two children.
